Ultimate rattle fix
Wow, It's nice to see a shop doing such good work!
Your car really is better than new, in some ways.
Thanks for posting the dis-assembly pics.
It's real interesting to see how the car is put together.
Did you get any pics of the Dash Off?
It would be interesting to see where that Sub is.

The hole is small so they only use a small base driver. You could easily fit one yourself. The dash can stay on if you are able to get in there (or bribe a kid to do it). Stick a length of accoustic foam into the hole first.
I do have the old dash so I can take pics of that - it would show all the mounting locations and clips so might be useful as a guide for somebody wanting to take theirs off or remove some of the trim pieces.
Let me know if there is interest in that.

Hmm, perhaps this is because it is Porsche's own body shop ?
Porsche Cape Town is one of the places Porsche uses as base for their new vehicle testing in South Africa (they drove the 918 around here quite a bit and nobody bothers them).
Anyway, that's probably one reason why they maintain such a nice facility here.

Not really, the C2S is not that bad in relation to U.S. prices at current exchange rates. The VW group can offset their exports (from local production) against imports to reduce or even nullify duties.
However, sadly, they don't help you out on the GT3 or Turbo - full 100% import duty applies on those so these cars cost massively more than the Carrera.
I could buy two well optioned C2S and have enough spare change left for a small car or two for just one Turbo S.

Some cars cannot. Humans can be replaced (they do that automatically).
Makes you think...
Thanks though, yes, glad this little episode is behind me.

No I did not get pics with the dash off - however you can see the hole for it if you stick your head under the dash on the pax side (right hand drive car). It uses a body cavity that runs all the way under the windscreen.

Real glad to see you have your car back on the road.
