Brake compatibility question...

Hi all,

A long shot, but worth a try...

Are the OEM pads & rotors of a 997.2 base model compatible with the pads & rotors of a 991 base model?

I have a set off my 2012 997.2 and am thinking of buying a 991. Just curious if I can keep them and use them or have to sell them.

As always, thank you all in advance!

Steve

No. Pads and rotors are 991 specific. To date you can get OEM or Pagid 29 pads.

Thank you!

Guess Ill have to sell them locally as they weigh a bit and shipping would be prohibitive.

On a similar note, are the front pads of the Carrera S the same as the base Carrera? I see that Carbotech has a ceramic brake pad that fits the Carrera. Just wondering if they fit the S also.

The 991 Base uses 997 series Front brake parts.

Front Pad: 997 351 938 11
Front Rotor (L): 997 351 401 01
Front Rotor (R): 997 351 402 01

The 991 Base uses 991 series rear brake parts.

Rear Pad: 991 352 939 02
Rear Rotor (L): 991 352 401 00
Rear Rotor (R): 991 352 402 00

The 997 Base uses these Front brake parts.

Front Pad: 997 351 938 03
Front Rotor (L): 997 351 401 00
Front Rotor (R): 997 351 402 00

Front 991 Base & Front 997.2 Base look to be the same.
Only those last 2 digits are off which usually just means an updated part.
You might be in luck

If you are talking 991 Base to 991S they are not the same.

991 Base Front Pad: 997 351 938 11

991 S Front Pad: 991 351 949 02

Remember the S has the larger monoblock calipers.
