991 Carrera S configuration
Overall looks to be very nice build!
One item I don't see in your list you may want to consider -- since you mention cold-weather drives, multiple climates, etc : Steering Wheel Heating. I probably wouldn't have picked it myself, but I bought a lot car and it was already installed. And I must say, at least here in the Northeast US in the cold weather it is a wonderful and very very nice feature. It gets very warm fast, and feels awesome! I have full-leather interior, steering wheel is leather as well.
Enjoy!

Steering wheel heating would be nice but unfortunately is not available with the SportDesign steering wheel
No no no.. That's a feature I like.. It keeps the valets from joy riding
Lol, yeah I got bit by that earlier this week. Uh sir how do you start it..? Then when I get the car I find the Frunk is popped because the attendant was pushing everything on the key that he could find to try and start the car..
I actually do think that someday keyless ignition systems will make sense. But I think they will make more sense when you don't really have to have the key and it really is keyless.. There will always need to be a button of sorts to start..
But maybe just an RFID tag in your wallet that sticks onto my drivers license, something I always have with me.. Or maybe I can associate with a credit card similar to the safes in some hotel rooms (reader built into PCM). provides a backup way if you lose your key..

The biggest problem with entry and drive is neither. The biggest problem is that instead of a button that any idiot can push, and which lights up conspicuously so anyone can find (even when Porsche keeps putting it on the wrong side of the steering column) when and if you ever valet your car, or take it into parking garage where they park the car for you, you can wait 1/2 hour before the valet/attendant admits defeat and comes to find you to ask you how to turn on the car! The dummy key is stupid - not quaint.
I am a fan of the light design package. I'm sure you can get it separately if you really want. Nice LED touch at night. With aluminum pedals it will make it nicer.
Colored gauge faces? All black?
Deviated stitching?
Ducktail spoiler?

When I picked-up my '14 C4S, I was completely confused when I got in the car, and couldn't find the "button" to start the engine! I bought a car off the lot, so it wasn't custom order and i probably wouldn't have selected keyless-go on this car. I do have the feature in other cars I own so knowing that my new baby had keyless entry and go I figured I would be ok with this. But I have never seen one set-up so wacky like this. First, the key is on the danged left side of the wheel -- awkward to begin with! I get in to the new 991, and where the key fits-in there is no button or anything.... In my Mercedes, Jeep, BMW, etc. it was always a big 'ol button that says START.
So I fumble around a bit, then go back in the showroom embarrassed to say I couldn't figure out how to start without the key... Well, sure enough, the "blank" key that gets inserted into the key-slot by the dealer upon deliver in this 991 was lost at the dealership when it was being prepped. Heck, they weren't even certain it had the option until I showed them the options list!
I asked why this was a "key" at all that had to be turned in the dash and not a simple button, and I was told that "Porsche design wanted it that way to preserve some of the history of the 911 -- the experience of starting the engine..." Uh, yeah ok.... whatever.
That is correct. In the "old days" some races started with the racers running and jumping into the car. The theory was that you could turn the key more quickly on the left of the column as you were jumping into your seat. Ok. That would explain the left - quirky, but that is their story and they are sticking to it. But, in that vain, a button on the left would be even faster! And make some sense. So there will be none of that!
TECHART Noselift front axle lift system
I ask this because I have the KW noselift in my 997 Turbo . It was just installed about 2 months ago after my Bilstein Damptronics collapsed at about 5 MPH . I love the noselift but it cost me with tax and installation over 11K . I can see the need to upgrade a suspension on a 997 car (especially the 997.1 turbo) but the 991 and current Boxster/Cayman cars come with the best stock suspension options i have ever seen in a Porsche (at an affordable price too) .
One more point .. the car has some of the highest priced peformance options but omits the X-51 ?
It's a nice car but with these types of options I might consider :
1) waiting for the Gts
or
2) see if 991.2 Gt3 comes with a manual available
or
3) order the X51 and opt for the stock Porsche choices like PASM and PDCC
Why would you get this ?

I am leaning toward waiting for the GTS, though I can only hope that it will be offered with a manual.
I have no way of knowing at this point whether they will offer it, but I am not holding my breath for Porsche to offer the GT3 with a manual.
