jinx it....
Mentioned how my tires are holding up so far in other thread couple of days ago.... I guess I jinx it ...
Had to replace both rear tires today.....
Got the driver side rear tire flat in the morning -- was told that since I have 8300 miles, need to replace both rears otherwise the difference in circumference between two rears messes up suspension (unless the tread wear difference is less than 30%) and is more important for awd 4S as it messes up the awd drivetrain too... Can't put Michelin PSS in the rear and keep pzeros in front as it messes up the car systems even more....AND Michelin PSS are "NOT" Porsche recommended tires for 991...got this confirmed independently by 2 service managers at different dealerships...Waited one day for 305s delivery (they only keep 295 pirellis in stock) and got the 2 rears replaced with oem pirellis pzeros 305 today..
I'm sure with tight tolerances in suspension etc these 991s are so freakin complex...it has to be exact science
The service shop kept the wheels pretty clean (no scratches etc) but I noticed that black lug nuts have some scratches on them.. It's driving me nuts ...pic attached...am I worrying too much?????

+1. The nuts will scratch every time you loosen or tighten them. I would not go "nuts" over it, just as Ulukai suggests, just blacken them with magic marker or paint.

Now you have an excuse to get these!

Impact guns are always going to mark a fastener surface like that, they work with a 'hammer' action to break lose the fastener and that's what you are seeing. A well-fitting socket such as a Snap-On brand put on the fastener coupled with a breaker bar and done by hand won't mar the lug faces, because that's a constant pressure movement with no hammer effect.
That's going to happen in a shop, almost no mechanics I know of are going to remove wheels by hand unless you make arrangements beforehand with them (and a small tip may be in order as well). Air tools are part of every mechanics tool box - speed up the job time considerably and time is money to them.

I always take the rims off at my house and have the tire guy just replace the tires..this is good time to detail the rims, wheel well and calipers..

If the PSS's aren't recommended, the only choice are the OEM Pirellis. I think a lot of folks here on the forums use PSS without a problem. The only issue I have with the PSS is that they don't have the curb protection sticking out of the tire. I'll probably stick with OEM because of that unless the PSS are way above in performance.

It's a good suggestion, but I'd check with your partner before you put black paint on your nuts....
