Even if you still had a decent amount of life left on the P-Zeros. Bit of a waste of front tires.
Yeah I agree, that's a drag.. I'd probably want to try to get a much life as was possible out of those rears.. before I replaced them if my goals was to switch tire types.

Personally I've always felt more comfortable pushing the tread life a bit further (within reason) on the rears than fronts. But it just depends on the time of year (i.e. weather) and where I'm living (i.e. road quality, general type of driving) as to making that call. But I tend to constantly keep an eye on the tire condition..

I've gone through this a couple of weeks ago. Yes, I'd probably replace all 4 pirellis with PSS next go round.

I did that this morning, with 20k miles on the P-Zeros. The fronts could have gone another 5 k miles, but the rears were just about ready. Too soon to know if they are as big an improvement as they were in every way over the PS2s on my Boxter S. I had no complaints about the Pirellis apart from becoming obviously noisier as they got past about 15 k miles.

What size did you select front and rear?

Wow..20K? I had 8K miles when I got one rear flat and due to high tread wear was instructed by 2 workshop managers to replace both rears

turbotip, it appears no one has gone to 255 front/305 rear combo on the MPSS.............it would be nice if someone could address your original question in this thread. I think you may have to be the first one to try it and see if the wheel well appearance looks any different than the 245 MPSS or Pzero?

Stock S sizes - 245 front, 295 rear.

Re looks: car has Sport PASM and 5mm spacers and I like the look and lack of road rash.

Re track use/handling: I am not (I tell myself) going to track the car seriously- been there done that extensively and I recommend it- for you. My one time with the 991C2S on its original P-0s the car was so much faster, everywhere, than my well tricked out old, fast-in-class track car that I would not go back without a roll cage. It did not understeer, turned in well and did not oversteer more than I liked. Where the SC drifted, the C2S tracked at absurd speeds, with commensurate terminal speeds on straights.

If I were going to track it, (and I am not, I tell you) it would take several trips tuning tire pressures before I would consider different tires or suspension settings. But I had to ask before selecting the Supersports. My tire guy (who has very extensive racing experience in P and other cars) thought the wider tires without wider wheels would over-tire the car, reduce contact patch, and slow it.
