3.4L - X-Pipe owners chime in
Below is a picture of our center muffler delete X-Pipe (I believe it is the one that XLR82XS is referencing in his post above):

Please explain.
Thanks!
The SpeedTech 991 X-Pipe is great choice of an X-Pipe for these cars...just sharing a nice option for 991 owners that want a little bump in volume with a greatly improved sound/tone...it really wakes the car up at high RPM's, but is very comfortable at lower RPM's and easy cruising.

Sharkwerks has zero drone, sounds awesome. Can't take the vibration on my PDK though. I posted about the vibration in the Sharkwerks post with no response. I haven't emailed Alex about it but plan on doing so after driving 500 miles this past weekend for a DE and couldn't take it anymore. If they don't return it, mine will be for sale for those MT owners or others interested.
FWIW, the Sharkwerks site mentions a similar condition on the 997 x-pipe that can be fixed by a tune.

Any word from sharkwerks about a fix ?
Sorry, been meaning to post...
I emailed Alex and he promptly emailed me back. He returned the pipe and I am eagerly awaiting another, if/when a fix or correction can be done. I think this may just be an isolated issue with PDK, as others have mentioned the manual doesnt seem to exhibit the same vibration. Some folks may be more tolerable to the vibration, after all its not major, and the sound can make up for it.
The Sharwerks x-pipe sounds awesome, the customer service is awesome (unlike another exhaust vendor on the forum that I have purchased from), but there just needs to be some additional engineering. I will buy from Sharkwerks again, Alex and his guys are stand-up.
On a side note, and after having both PSE (both factory and dealer installed on various P cars) and aftermarket, I would opt for PSE if given the choice. Although I cannot fathom the way P justifies the cost (especially on S models that already have the plumbing), the sound is awesome.

All my dealings with Alex have been excellent too. I haven't bought anything from them yet, but I will soon.
I wonder what it is about PDK that would cause vibrations where the manual doesn't?

I believe it has to do with idle speed and load. The DFI compensates automatically with PDK, while in the manual it's done with your right and left feet. In a manual, you aren't ever in gear and at idle would be my assumption.
Just installed Agency Power primary delete x-pipe on my 2014 carrera 3.4 7MT. The AP pipe took some forcing in as the flange bolts were a tad bit off (shoddy workmanship), but I made it work. Kept stock secondary mufflers on.
Very pleased with the results. No drone at any RPM range. Burbling at throttle release. Slightly louder from stock, not LOUD!
I wish it was louder though on higher RPMs, but I have a feeling if it was louder I'd get drone (which I can't have as I am on the phone all the time) on lower RPMs. I think the only way around this is a valved system to open at higher RPMs. Thinking about upgrading to AWE switch path.
Wondering how much more AWE switch path differs (sound) from PSE... As they open/close at specific RPMs. Aside from AWE SP is free flowing on the center where PSE has center mufflers.
Did a little test while installing AP x-pipe. Left off the connector pipe that connects the primary center x-pipe to the secondary mufflers. Went for a drive. It sounded horrible! Unbearable drone (but I think this is due to the fact that the exhaust is now reverberating within the back hull) on lower RPMs and horrible sound on higher RPMs. Theoretically this should sound the same as the race exhaust offered by our vendors here (center+secondary deletes).

I believe those 2 larger canisters on the initial pass through are resonators.

So with the connector pipe removed, separating the x-pipe from the secondary mufflers, theoretically it should sound like the supersport x-pipe. But it sounded horrendous! I think due to the fact that I did not have a pipe after the x-pipe flowing the exhaust gases/sound to the tips, the sound resonated within the exhaust hull of the car.
Wonder how the Supersport X-Pipe sounds. I listened to some youtube clips, but it definitely doesn't sound anywhere close to that.

You lost me right there. There's no way I would accept anything but quality workmanship and a perfect fit on a part specifically made for a 991. Unacceptable.
