Thumbs up Coast mode feature I just noticed

Normally I hate the stop/start feature but I don't mind turning it on for long trips to get the 'coast' mode on cars with PDK, the problem is that the car does not always switch to coast mode when I take my foot off the gas. It has to meet certain variables, speed, grade etc.

I noticed however if you change up from 7th (via the paddles, buttons or stick) it forces the car into coast mode. (car has to have start/stop enabled as well)

Maybe everyone already knows this but just in case you missed it, give it a try.

Or don't, it's free country

Nick

I am indeed waiting on both the M4 and for PCNA to take back the 991, mean time I am getting free miles from it so may as well keep driving it even if it still does a lot of strange things. Life is an adventure with my car : )

What do you mean 'change up from 7th'? Do you mean if you're already in 7th and let off the gas it'll coast? Or do you mean if you're in 7th and you try to shift up even higher it will put it into coast?

Coast only works in normal mode period. If you let your foot off the gas slowly it will coast automatically provided certain criteria are met... E.g If you back off the gas quickly it assumes you want engine breaking and won't coast ... but you can force it into coast mode in this case by going to '8th gear' whilst off the accelerator (it's more intuitive than it sounds)
In sport mode coast is not available, however, if you really want it you can select neutral by pulling on both paddles ...
