RGreenberg, it may be obvious at this point, but the purpose of the two are very different as well. The wind deflector is designed to keep turbulent air out of the cabin when the top is down, so it is quieter and your girlfriend's hair does not get all blown around. The spoiler is designed to produce down force at moderate to high speeds, thus improving the handling.
