Ferrari 458 Italia review
Nice review! Thanks!
Was that cop in the background (lights flashing and all....) at the very start of the vid there for your protection?
Although nothing to do with 991s as you say at the top, I think just about everyone on this forum board can appreciate a Ferrari....

Must be the funny accent.
Great review though. Keep them coming.
What happen to your 991 story? Did you end up getting another one or you getting something else?
And to all you haters on Nick, go get a life...
Thanks for the fun review, Nick. What a great opportunity to drive a spectacular car. I got to drive the 458 back-to-back with a Gallardo Superleggera at Exotics Racing Las Vegas on their new dedicated road course next to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Amazing experience--I highly recommend it if you or anyone else here on the board is in Vegas. The Gallardo looks amazing, but almost felt like driving a truck compared to the 458. The Lambo's controls felt heavy and slow to respond, whereas the 458 felt immediate, responsive and light. And as Nick showed, the exhaust is intoxicating. Here's a quick iPhone flyby shot by my wife:
I loved your 991 videos! I have been looking to get my first 911 soon and your videos - the good, the bad, and the ugly - were incredibly informative. Glad it worked out for you in the end and I just wanted to thank you for the effort you put into your videos.
Nick, thanks for another interesting and fun (and funny!) review.
Agree with both quotes above -- I'll stick with Porsche.
I don't know, maybe I'm crazy. Yes, these are truly lust worthy cars, but when you start looking at the history of Enzo (not a particularly nice guy) and the current marketing strategy geared one step beyond exclusivity. The fact that you have to play games to get on a list to spend $300k to have a car that you drive under 600 miles a year, and are nervous about getting car jacked when you're filling-up for gas, frankly it's just not something I can get excited about. My local P Car dealer also owns a McLaren and Maserati dealership, so lots of used Ferraris around to sit in - close the door and sit in it and it's not the same Teutonic thud and fit and finish in our cars. Is it an amazing piece of engineering? Yes. Is it beautiful? Yes. Is it an insane driving experience - I'm sure it is. Who do I root for at Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring? Porsche.
Luca do Montezemolo said, everyone respects Porsche, they're the second best sports car company after us. One thing to think it - another thing to say it.
I'm rooting for the guys in Stuttgart, and I'm of Italian descent. Now if Maserati can just make their stuff a little lighter and faster, maybe I could embrace my heritage (yes I know Fiat owns both of them and Ferrari techs build Maserati's engines - hey that doesn't make me a hypocrite
)
