Sound

Two questions please:

- is there anyway to show a display of the sound volume level?

- I have the traffic announcement function on. How to interrupt it to go back to whatever I was listening to. I don't want to "untick" this option as I need it most but not all the time.

Thank you

Press the left volume dial once to cancel the announcement - it will automatically go back to your chosen sound source. Pressing this dial will act as a 'mute' for the std sound source and as a 'cancel' for traffic announcements.... Handy feature

No. There is a mic volume display for the phone and one for nav but not the radio/media.

Thank you cheekymonkeyman, that's helpful

Jster, I like to listen to internet radio and sometimes the reception is not good. If I change the sound volume when there is no reception, I wouldn't know what level it would be when the reception is back on. sometimes is silent and sometimes is very loud

Unfortunately Porsche didn't think it useful to have a volume graphic associated with the media volume changes. That is just the way it is.

That said, if the reception is not good, why would you be changing the volume? If there is bad static or something you could just mute it (one press of the volume button) and then un-mute (one press of the volume button) later.

[Just as an aside, check to see if you have Speed Dependent Volume set (in the Sound menu). This might be related to what you are experiencing (but I doubt it).]

Now if you are streaming from your phone through BT AUX then there are different issues. I am not sure whether Porsche volume control is independent for each source (BT AUX vs media volume (radio, CD, etc.). The manual appears to say no and I haven't tested it to see if this is correct. However check to make sure the volume on the phone you are streaming from doesn't change if you go back and forth from streaming on the phone to Porsche Ipod/radio/CD or whatever. I do know that the car will maintain the volume level at whatever level you last set it (whatever "it" is) from start to stop to start.
