CD Tracklist
CD Tracklist
Just got my IPOD issues resolved but noticed that my CD tracklists don't have titles. They just say Track One, Track Two, etc but nothing else. Do I need to hit another button to get the information or is there an issue to resolve?
My 2012 C2S shows some tracklists for some CD's but not for others. I don't know if it's the CD or the head unit. I play the CD's directly as I don't like the way IPOD's clip/compress the music.
Can we assume that the CD in question actually has track information?
Until a few years ago it was rare for the CDs to even have track information on them. Now it seems they are doing it more. Unless you are sure that there is track information on the CD's in question then I'd presume that is the issue.
I've never had any issues with this on mine.

Do you know, can you put a CD in the player and download it to the hard drive for later play. I've read that you can, and I've read that first you would have to load it to an Ipod or an MP3 and then load it from that to the Porsche hard drive. I'm getting the Burmester if that makes a difference.

1) I am not aware of the ability to "rip" CDs from the Bose or Burmester DVD drive to the internal jukebox. There are folks who have talked about it but I've yet to see it a done. If I'm wrong (and I hope I am) explain how you do it.
But to do this you need to do it on a computer with a ripper program and then move it onto a usb stick. Also note it needs to be organized otherwise in directories otherwise you get a huge list of files. So if you don't have the technical expertise to use rippers then you will have to learn how to do that (or get a kid to help you lol).
2) There is a 40GB Jukebox that you can load supported media files (MP3's, WMA's etc) via the USB port. It is a little clumsy but essentially the files get copied from a USB stick to the car's 40GB drive and then you play it via the "jukebox" source on the PCM. Other than crashing the PCM periodically on certain mp3 files it works pretty good. This is my primary entertainment in the car other than CD's.
3) Via the USB port you can put in a USB stick with media files (potentially the same one you used to load the files to the Juke box) and play directly off of the USB tick. It is selected as another source on the PCM.

Maybe not as bad as you think. Just learn how to make mp3's or AAC files from CD's.. Then it is a matter of copying the files to a USB stick.
