All, it's been quite a ride this past year with my 911 C2S. I ordered my X51 C2S last September after trading in my E92 M3. The dream of owning not only a 911, but a car perfectly built to my specifications. When I got the car I noticed a pretty nasty ding in the back of the car. After a few months, I got over it. All was great with my car.

Well, the dream turned into a nightmare. I started feeling what I thought was a vibration on the highway when I was in fifth through seventh gear. Then I started to identify it as more of a hesitation rather then a vibration. I further diagnosed it as more of a stumble from about 2,000ish to 4,000 RPMs. I thought I had bad gas, or the car was misfiring, or possibly a bad differential. I really didn't know.

That was when I found the dreaded "Hesitation/Stumble" Thread on 6speed. Others were describing exactly what was happening to my car.

So I decided I would help start the crusade to figure out an undiagnosed problem. I went to two different dealerships, and they basically told me there was nothing they could do.

After careful consideration, I've decided rather than hating my car, stressing about trying to get Porsche to fix it, or some other solution that I would just trade the car.

I obviously didn't want to chance getting a C2S again, so I began the search to find a GT3. Today I made the trade.

I post these numbers to help others to understand what they may be facing if you decided to take the loss. I'm guessing a stumbling car is basically unsellable to a private party, so you'll have to trade it.

My C2S stickered at $134,575. I got it for about $126,000. I traded it today for $98,000. So I took a loss of $28,000 plus taxes/fees in a little over 8 months. Needless to say, I won't be making any more car changes/purchases anytime in the near future.

I'm sorry to those that have cars that are still having problem. I pray that Porsche comes up with a fix ASAP. The stress made me seriously consider my options. In the end, I decided my sanity is more important than my money.

Oh, and I got a GT3!!!!!!!!! Come on over to the 991 GT3 section for my next Journal. Thanks for all of the fun this community provides. This is a fantastic outlet for a car guy introvert like myself that is often misunderstood.

In the end, just as long as you're happy that's all that matters. Cars can bring a lot of joy, but they also bring a lot of stress and upkeep most of the time.

I'm a big perfectionist as well, and one issue/problem/flaw can eat at me. I can relate.

Looking forward to reading up on your future posts, and don't terrorize the retirees in your neighborhood too much with the GT3.

How much did you pay for the GT3? Was a custom order or pre-owned?

I paid MSRP at $156,000. It was a new, untitled 2014 that a guy backed on. So it has the replaced engine and extra year warranty. My sales guy called me to let me know it showed up unknown to them. Luckily for me it was almost the exact build I wanted. I didn't have the guts to order a Blue one, but I fell in love when I saw it in person.

Matt - sorry to see you go from this forum and you provided countless tips and how - to. Your GT3 is a real beauty, best of luck with it. Pretty awesome. Great color!

Congrats! I'll be following your posts in the GT3 forum! The color is stunning, something you don't see everyday even in the "plain old" 991!

One question tho -- after all of your comments in previous threads about MT vs PDK, how could you go with a PDK???? :eek:

The question I have for you is how much stiffer is the ride on the GT3 from the C2S? That seems to be the primary concern of several Porsche-a-philes, they want their sports, but don't want to give up too much comfort. What you estimate it as in percentage terms?

First, congrats in that drop dead gorgeous GT3.
Second, I hear you on trying to capture the beauty of blue in a good picture, you can't, and I have been trying.
Last, I am happy for you that you traded into something that will let your "Porsche love" be unsullied.
