anybody want carbon fiber multi fcn steering wheel that has the sport wheel?

I currently have the carbon fiber multi-fcn steering wheel with the full carbon fiber interior kit. I love the way all the carbon fiber looks inside the car, similar to the turbo cars.

My problem is the addiction continues and I would love to try something different and get the sport wheel for pdk with sport chrono instead.

If someone is in the LA area and interested in swapping them out, let me know.

We could swap the switches on the column as well at the same time. I love the way this current one looks in the car and I actually use the buttons to dial phone calls and to skip to the next track on slacker radio but I'm looking to try out the one with the paddles on the back.

I hope I'm not making a mistake and doing something I will regret later.

The wheel I have is also heated if your car is configured for this option.

Having had both wheels, the sport steering wheel with paddles is much better for sport driving purposes. I love it on my 991 c2S.

You can shift from a MF wheel to a Sport wheel, but anyone you trade with cannot shift from a Sport wheel to a MF wheel. I would be interested in doing this if I could, as I wanted to go from my Sport to carbon fiber MF just for the carbon fiber accent. I was told it was not possible by my Porsche service department.

If you have information that says otherwise, please let me know. I have the Sport wheel with paddles in black leather with black stitching. 2014 Turbo S Coupe.

There are three parts that switch out when making this change. There is the wheel itself, the control switch on the steering column, and a wiring harness in the middle.

I have a friend who is a tech here in LA and I can ask him... this is also why swapping local would be convenient because he can help!

I will confirm with him that this would work.

Please do......I would like to know. I had planned to just buy the CF MF wheel separately. Pulling the airbag out doesn't seem a big deal. Thing is, almost anyone that has inquired had been told they cannot do a MF to Sport conversion to that it would cost like $5K-$8K to do it. It really makes no sense that it would be anything other than a different connector, wiring harness at the wheel, and a reprogram of the PCM to recognize the MF wheel.

And if you go to the SunCoast Parts website where the CF MF wheel is listed, they state:

"Note: If you car doesn't have Multi Function radio controls already installed, a dealer will have to activate this functionality. If you have the Sport Paddle Steering (Sport Design) Wheel, additional hardware may be required to fit this steering wheel."

Their website makes it sound like it is totally possible. I think I will call SunCoast tomorrow and talk to their parts guy about it. Makes me wonder if most Porsche Sevice Departments either don't want to mess with it, or they don't know if it can be done. Maybe a call to Champion's Service Department. They do so much product development and taking apart of cars for it, I'd think they would know for sure.

I think this has been around in another post. My recollection is the wiring harness in the car originally built with the SD wheel will not support the multi function wheel. Porsche does make wiring harnesses car specific.

I think I may miss the multi function buttons too much if I swap it out.... plus the cf looks pretty too.
