Depreciation Rate for 991
Sounds like a car I was looking at back then and missed out on. The one I was interested in was in Nashville.
Does yours have the carbon interior trim and Sport Technos? How many miles were on it?
Have pics? Great optioned car.

Hmm....1st year is a bigger drop than many seem to think
Just bought a "new" (less than 500 miles), 2014S, warranty start 10/14, CPO included....list price $124k, paid $92k, that's a 26% drop and never left the dealer before taking the hit.

Regardless of when the car first left the dealer's lot, on a model year basis, which is what counts for resale value, this is already a two-year old car. 2016's are available. If it is sold or traded-in in a few years, the model year, 2014, will determine its residual value, not when it first was sold.
If a 2016 had just been driven off the lot, a would lose much less of its initial cost, which probably be 95% or less of MSRP.
Figuring a probable selling price for a 2014, when it was the current model year, of 95% of MSRP, the loss for two years is only 21%, or approximately 10% per year. This is a reasonable estimate for the cost of purchasing and owning a new 991.

Here's the deal.
For example on a C2S
The sweet spot for a little less depreciation is in the 115-125K build range.
Once you start getting past 135K you're losing more and more off the top line. Add crazy leather, ceramics, Burmeister, and hit 140K plus on a C2S you're losing a lot more on that extra 15-20K in options over the 120K build.
Make sense? After 135K or so on a C2S you're losing almost all the money on those options.
Come resale, you'll be competing against all those 115-125K builds options or no options. Prospective buyers will lump that high optioned car in with those lower ones.

the ideal buyer in a pvt sale is the one who pronounces " Porsche " as a one syllable word !
