XPel and light correcting polish

I have XPel on the hood, front bumper and rock guards on my rear qtr panels. When the spring comes I am planning on doing some light paint correction on my car and was wondering if I could use a light correcting polish (Blackfire Gloss enhancing Polish) over the Xpel using DA buffer. My installer said no problem but I want to know if anyone has any experience doing this. I did coat with full Zaino process and Blackfire Wet Diamond paint sealant and it looks great and cleans easily.
Any info appreciated.

I have XPel coating as well and am prepping to do the same. You are able to correct it, as it responds to correction with polishes. Exactly the same as a clear coat, I don't know yet. I would take the normal correction process, wash, clay bar, wash, tape up/mask off trim and other bits. I haven't used the Blackfire Gloss, that may not be an aggressive enough polish. You may be spending a really long time removing hazing/scratches in the XPel. Obviously, you don't want to burn thru the XPel, but I might recommend using Menzerna FG400 on a white pad. I've used the product extensively and it really does an excellent job of removing swirls, fine scratches and such. Then, I'd follow it up with your Blackfire on a blue pad. I'm planning on starting mine on Thursday, I'll let you know.

Thanks Toddcc1
I appreciate the feedback. I would be really interested in how you feel it accepts correction. I don't have any major imperfections on the balance of my paint just the usual slight swirl marks so I did not want to go too aggressive. I am also considering using the Blackfire SRC Finishing polish which has more correction ability but still not overly aggressive. My car is hibernating at this time so I would be really interested in what you experience. Thanks again.

Suggest checking in on the detailing forum. I'm sure you will get some good advice there from moe and some of the other experts.

Would also suggest a very very light polish - you don't need to be aggressive. Menzerna SF4500 is unbeatable.
