idiot in Ferrari causes GTR to crash
Definitely off topic... but damn....
Actually looks like they were racing |
The GT-R driver was the bigger idiot. Could have just braked and let the Ferrari by instead of swerving into the guardrail.
|
Looks like they were 'play racing' and ran out of talent.
If I'd have been in the GTR, I'd have punted that 458 in the left quarter bumper and he'd have spun left, then I'd just dip to the right and go around him. That's what the big boy racers do. I'd have some bumper marks, but he'd be FUBAR. |
Was that Justin Bieber avoiding the paparazzi again? Hilarious
|
Wonder whose insurance company is going to be picking up that tab...

Well you've gotta be in such situations to handle something like you're describing. I would've just slammed the brakes (while checking traffic in rear view mirror) of my GTR and let Ferrari pass.
Choices are A) Swerve left and lose control (this is what he did) or B) Keep the car straight, grip your wheel hard and push the Ferrari out of the way while turning slightly to the right if you're out of room. When two vehicles try to occupy the same space at the same time, someone is going to have to crash -may as well be the guy that put you in that position instead of you! As you can see after the GTR loses control, he comes back and punts an innocent car like he should have done to the Ferrari - just not as hard. See how that car pivots and gives you space to drive through to the right? I've done this so many times at the racetrack (and had it done to me as well) that its muscle memory. The driver of the front car can't do anything about the punt except ride it out to the spin, the guy doing the punt can drive around it if he has his head in the game. It's just defensive driving - hoon style. Do enough DE schools and some low level racing and this becomes second nature. Silly street racer boyz in that video - thinking they know how to drive. hilarious |
If the GTR just go straight and hit the F car, the F car will have to pay for the whole bill with this video.
I am not sure if the GTR insurance can go after the F car now. |
With video proof that they were racing, it's possible nobody's insurance pays anything...

License plate numbers bigger than Dallas. These guys are going to spend some jail time.hilarious

i would expect the insurance companies to go after the ferarri owner im not saying i dont think they are racing, i bet they were, but theres no real proof |
The insurance companies don't have to prove they were racing, it's not a trial. They just deny coverage and say we think you were racing. Now you have to sue the insurance company and prove you weren't racing. Understand the distinction?
Watched again...they were clearly racing and the GT-R is at fault, if fault can be placed. He was a blockhead and didn't concede when he was beat. Amateur street racing at its worst. To bad they collected the innocent driver just minding his own business. |
