With my PCA discount, an oil change at my dealer cost me $195. There is also a Porsche Speciality shop in my area that will do it for $125.

$200 is more than fair. $380 no way.

My dealer charges $280 to balance 4 wheels.

We should post prices that are fair with the dealers name to try and give them service. The rip off dealers that charge crazy prices should be listed in another post. Let's be positive.

Don't get used to it. Both of the Atlanta dealerships are undergoing major renovations. We'll be paying for them somehow!

I do most maintenance myself, have a log book with dates, materials used and receipts for materials.
29k, so far I do oil changes, filters, belt, PS+PB fluids..and coolant refresh,9 yr old car. This is all DIY and save a boatload of $$$

I "should" because I want to change the oil every 5000 miles. That's why. You may do whatever you want with your car.

Yeah I do mine every 5k miles, just peace of mind and I DIY. About $46 for oil, and about $15 for oil filter kit.

Mine 3.8 Carrera S and Turbo S are at 7.9 quarts with oil filter. I would check manual, but I assume that the 3.4 is the same.

I would stop into Rockville and be certain that you got the correct quote - it seems totally out of whack. There are at least 3 other dealers nearby so unless they are conspiring to rip everybody off I can't imagine that the other dealers would give a quote like that.

A big part of the problem concerning high service costs may be related to how service advisors are compensated. As they are paid in part on the basis of total billings, it's in their (and their wallet's) best interests to maximize each bill.
