nope .. emptied the tank did not hear it .. took it in, they did not hear it - might take me longer as I don't drive mine every day .. I have had mine for 6 months and just turned 1600 miles .. as soon as I can show the dealer the symptoms .. I will take it back
Did you ever figure out your rattle? Mine started doing the same. Louder with the gas tank full. At the dealer now.
Taking it in on Monday for them to listen...definitely much worse after fill up...around half tank, it's silent. Talked to service manager. He thought it was missing a gas tank mount or something to that affect...
I'll let you guys know. I still have some hair, btw.
I believe there is a supporting pad under tank, it might be misaligned or as the service guy said, strap out of whack or missing...not sure about the fire foam stuff..

So I have the same problems - rattling from the dash, around the chrono clock as well as rattling on the door, etc...
Took it in to the dealership - there is a service bulletin board re: adhesive of foam pieces next to the gas tank. They did and took away the dash rattling.
NOW - I only have rattling on the doors, etc...I already took the car in 3 times and they can't seem to fit it. So frustrating for a 100K+ car. Anyone with other solutions?
Once you have the panel off, remove all the white push-pin clips you see in the picture above and that will loosen another panel that actually makes contact with the metal door.
Then add felt tape to the entire perimeter where the panel meets the metal.
I also wrapped the bottom edge of the door panel you removed first with some felt tape. You can't see it unless you look under the door.

Is that Bulletin 1403?
Were the pads 991-572-529-00?
Just curious if it was the same bulletin as performed on my car.
So after installing the updated gas tank cushioning pads, the rattle was still present. More investigating revealed that the driver's side front strut was rattling in the strut mount. They ordered a new mount, but after tightening the nut holding the shock to the mount, the rattle is pretty much gone.
All is well! Was the missing gas tank pad mounts. No more rattling with full tank of gas.
Was a decent experience with Bev Hill Porsche dealer except they washed my car after asking them several times not to....then, the service advisor Jason had the ***** to tell me they did not wash it! Amazing people at car dealerships. It's like they live in some kind of alternate universe. He kept insisting they didn't wash it. It was clean, they had to have washed it...lol.
They didn't do too much damage...even though I did find a mark in the sunroof that Trevor said he would fix.
Is there such a thing as a good car dealership? Thank god they don't work on people!!!

Reviving an "old" thread I just found. I'm also interested in a bulletin number for this fix.
I also, at times, have this rattle behind the dashboard when the tank is full. Almost sounds like a squirrel running around.
Service Bulletin 1403 2010 "Advanced Technical Information Cayman and all 991. Squeak and/or rattle from dash or instrument cluster area."
If you search around, there are threads on this on several boards, and some fixes involve a lot of disassembly. In my case, that wasn't necessary.
The tank can be dropped a just bit from below (without removing it and the many things associated with that), which gave just enough access to install new pads.
Car has been silent since. Such a pleasure to drive w/o that annoyance.
