Yes, it was a brand-new car supposedly.

What was wrong with yours?

Nothing with the car (that I know of) but they were extremely shady in business and I wouldn't deal with them again. I don't want to hi-jack your thread, keep us posted how this turns out, will be interesting to say the least I think.

Wow, sorry to hear jdm. Certainly, something is not right with your car. Hope everything gets fixed/remediated to your satisfaction. Sux.

Thanks,
I'll play their game for now, but since the damage wasn't disclosed to me, I'm going to be demanding a replacement vehicle.

I had those lines too when my car was newly delivered. I think those are due to the transport plastic the car is wrapped in. They can't be removed with regular washing. I removed mine with Sonax Tar Remover (http://www.sonax.com/Product-Search/...AX-Tar-remover)

I brought my car to the dealer yesterday and they took pictures of the issues with the car. They say they can color sand the paint and they are ordering me a new mirror and will paint it to match. They checked with Porsche NA today and they said that there was never any repairs made at the port. I'm pretty sure they're implying that the car came off the assembly line in that condition. At this point, I'm not sure if I even want them to try to repair the damage.

Take it to the best high quality body shop for high end cars and get an evaluation. First make sure the car was repainted before anyone starts wet sanding. As far as a rogue mirror being put on at the factory I guess anything is possible but then Porsche should ship a new mirror with factory paint as your replacement.

Fight to get this right or you will never be satisfied. And Don't let anyone touch the car until you are confident of what he issue is and if you even want to keep it. Once they start toying with it, it will end up being yours.

Solid advise. I'm planning on taking it to a body shop or two sometime this week to determine if the car has been repainted. If it has been, I'm going to fight to get the car replaced. It's really hard to believe that Porsche's quality control could be so lacking to allow something like this to leave the factory.

Over the weekend I took my car to 3 different body shops and found out that the car was never repainted and that the spots were caused by fallout which could be removed by claying the car. This morning, I dropped my car off at the dealer where they will be replacing the mis-matched mirror and claying the car for me. Hopefully, they don't do more damage when I pick it up. Until then, I get a big, lumbering Cayenne to drive as a loaner.

Congrats on the new baby.

Good you hear it was all sorted but you should have insisted that the detailing be done by a professional body shop or detailer.
I doubt the dealer will do a good job.

Also weird that Porsche messed up so badly with the mirror and that it passed QC.
Something is still fishy....

Great you took the step to go to the body shop and get a real read or they would be painting your car now. Hopefully claying will get it all back to normal and the mirror change is just an annoyance.
Good job being patient.
