Came home from cars & coffee meet this morning to find a tidy little package on my front step from Porsche.... Some of you no doubt already received, perhaps I am late receiving. The "cut-away" viewers are pretty cool, although the drawings are so small that you can't really learn anything from them!
Thought those who haven't seen this particular material might like to see a video of what I found opening the box.
Got the same thing in the mail last week! I assumed it was another "owner's package" with notepads, pens, certificates, etc., but I was surprised to see this.
I guess Porsche needs to try something, especially after the lukewarm reception the new model is receiving. My info packet hit the recycle bin two weeks ago.
Porsche is going through what BMW did with the new M3/4. Yes they are in every measurable way a better car than the out going E92 M3 but not when it comes to the visceral experience. Same thing now with the 991.2. However, lets not kid ourselves. They had to do it, the way CAFE and emissions are coming into play now the day of the high revving NA power-plant is coming to an end.
Ford can get away with it with the Mustang GT350 and its high revving Voodoo engine. Only because of the amount they are building vs. the rest of the lineup.
The 991.2 is a great car for someone that doesn't have a 991 and wants a new one. It just doesn't give me enough to want to trade in my 991.1. In some ways it is better and some ways not IMO.
