I'm considering purchasing a pre owned 991. The Porsche wheels have been painted black and I want them stock. The dealer tells me they can just paint them back to the stock silver color. He says that the Porsche alloy wheels are all painted. Is this true?

The wheels are the 20" Carrera Classic Wheels.

I confirm. my 991 carrera s wheel got a small chip in it from a canyon run up the crest a few weeks ago. you can tell it's painted. no big deal, have them refinish the wheels...although make sure the color is correct. someone told me once that the factory paint can't be used because of compliance issues so they do their best to match the color. talk to wheel enhancements board sponsor about this.

I'm sure you could always find a stock set in the factory silver color and sell the black ones if you are worried about them being the exact color.

If you decide to do this maybe you can work it out that when you find the other wheels that the dealer can mount and balance them as part of your deal.
