New to me 911
New to me 911
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce my self: picked my first Porsche a few weeks ago and am loving it. Although, I've been a BMW guy for a long time, here is my story. Btw, I'm in Virginia just outside of DC.
My last exotic was a 2009 E92 M3 vert. Found out we were having a baby, car was approaching end of warranty and 50K miles, and I was getting tired of pumping gas every 4-5 days. Ended up dumping the car for a Toyota hybrid. It wasn't long before I started to get the itch for speed though.
I started looking around for my next car and just couldn't find a car that fit my needs: fun to drive as a daily if needed, not too flashy, and something I wouldn't be concerned about taking to the grocery store. After much conversation, I started to center on Cayman S. Drove the Cayman and fell in love. As I started to talk numbers, I was overcome with an immense amount of guilt as a I realized I wouldn't be able to take my son for a ride as along he Is in a car seat. We're not fans of the car seat in front.
My wife then suggested I look at a 911. A few drives later, I was hooked. 2 days later I found the perfect car in NC. A day later I flew down and drove her back:
2014 CPO Agate gray on black, PDK, PSE. That's all I wanted and needed. Car also came with sport design steering wheel and platinum satin 20s.
I've had the car for two weeks now and am finally one with it. And this is the first exotic I can see myself keeping for a long time.
Here are a couple pics.
Also, I was hoping if I could pick your brains:
Any suggestions for rear OR facing or front facing car seats that would fit the back seat AND allow my wife to sit comfortably in the front? We've got another 3 months in the rear facing.
Also, is there anything I should be doing to maintain the car right now. Dealer told me to change oil once a year or at 10k miles. I plan to do it sooner. Since my car is CPO till 2019, not sure what I should do to maintain optimal longevity.
Finally, any suggestions for indie Porsche shops in NoVa.
Also, if any of you are in the Springfield/Woodbridge area, let me know!
