new to porsche

just picked up 2017 991.2 C4S, and it's my 1st porsche ever. still trying to know to my car, but this personal memory setting is troublesome at the moment. i've read the manual countless time, and searched both this forum and google, and nothing came up.

so here's the problem. i know that i properly saved my personal setting. however, the car goes back to default setting every time the car starts? i can't figure out how to make it stick! and it's there a way to completely turn auto start/stop? or it's something that i need to manual turn off every time?

thanks!

You can save the memory to the button on the door or separately to the key. It sounds like you saved it to the door but the key is set on something else.

Auto start/stop is off by default, but the light is Red...meaning it's on...as in off. I know it's confusing. The opposite of all the other buttons.

The key situation is super weird. I believe you have to (1) set all of your desired settings, (2) save it to the key (and not to the seat #1, 2, etc.), and (3) then lock the car with the specific key.

Not by my notebook at home, otherwise I'd give you the proper instructions someone else provided last time.

Doesn't seem weird to me. Button #3 is "save to key." Buttons #1 and #2 are "save to the button, not the key," and they work whether you have the key or not. When you lock the door with the key, you're telling the car "save to this key, not the other one if it's in range."

I'm not sure how else you'd do it. Maybe put a 'save settings' button on the key itself?

From what I understand, the auto stop start on the 991.2 always defaults to on and no longer remembers the last setting as it did on the 991.1. You may want to see if the dealer is able to code in a different behavior.
