Accurate and correct way of describing the 991.2 in my opinion.

For everyday driving - yes it is boring when compared to just about any predecessor. Yes, faster and all that - but that is not what a 911 is all about.
One drove past me up the hill close to my home yesterday while I was going up the same hill on my mountain bike (yes, I have to keep my ticker at high revs a couple of times a week). It overtook me from behind. I only noticed it was a new 911 as it pulled ahead of me. Quietly. Definitely not a 911. More like a beemer. Most mercs where I live make more noise - and sound good (somehow there are a lot of AMGs around).
Something lost ? Yes. For some it matters - for some it does not.

I too hope that the next generation will perhaps go back to a (smaller) NA engine with all the noise and high revs backed up by some form of electric motor. Until then my 991.1 stays with me.

I did however buy a new car in the meantime. Want to guess ? Drumrolls...
A brand new Hyundai I10. 1.1 Liters, 0-100KM in a weekend...
Not bad - struggles a bit up the hills but a great little car for around town. Wife prefers it over the Panamera. Much easier to park.

Interesting with your thoughts around sound, agree regarding the AMG - they have taken sound real seriously. Perhaps the new Panamera can give us some hints were Porsche is going. Looking forward to test it. I also like the smaller cars (and they are good priced also) - and all cars have their charm. My wife is not as occupied by cars as me neither, so a easier car to park etc. is always popular in the family. Nice lineup of cars you have - a lot of fun drive and a little tough offroad also in the durable Hilux.

My disorder has gone too far. I was driving the Norwegian mountain roads this weekend with my family - your car is perfect here. Do you have a picture of your car?

 

Yes, bought it new in 1989. Still have it. Rolled down a mountain slope once. Bit of bent metal - not bad. Got it fixed up. Going strong as ever.
No, I was not in it. Loaned the car to my boss at the time - bad mistake. Took the Hilux back and got rid of the boss.
Did have to replace the gearbox once - but don't blame the car - modded the engine a bit so it can hold 150Km/h on the highways. It's the original 2.2 liter engine which was a bit out of puff at 120 (but has good torque low down).
Gearbox does not like the higher speeds.

Haha I just rented an i10! Lovely and small, plus easy to find limit of grip!
