When I traded my 2012 997 GTS in on my current 991 GTS, I received almost 10K more for it on trade than I would have if it had been a S. That was two years ago. I have no idea what the delta is today.

I would greatly appreciate your comparative impressions. I'm contemplating either going the 991.1 GTS, 991.2 GTS, possibly the 991.2 GT3 (if it will be available with a manual), and lastly.. the next C8 (if the design looks infinitely better and is indeed mid-engine).

I've driven several 991S manual and PDK but never the GTS.
I love my 2012 GTS.. I may just keep it rather than trade it in.

I loved my 2012 997 GTS and thought I would never trade or sell it. It was very well optioned, and a fantastic car. I actually also never thought I would buy a 991, but when the 991 GTS came out a couple years ago, I decided to drive one and just see what I thought. All my previous 911's, dating back to 1984 were all manual transmission cars.

So, I drove the 991 GTS, with a PDK, and fell in love with the car and the PDK. To me, the 991 is better in every way over the 997. To be sure, the 997 GTS was a great car, but to me, the 991 GTS is even better. The PDK is also fantastic.

As many have said, the 997 is a little more raw, but I like the longer wheelbase in the 991. The car is more stable and doesn't have the porpoise effect that the shorter wheelbase 997 exhibited. The 991 handles better and at the same time, rides better than the 997.

You really can't go wrong by keeping your 997 GTS. I can't comment on the 991.2 GTS, and I guess no one can yet, but I can say I prefer my NA 3.8 liter engine in my 991.1 GTS over the 991.2 Carrera and Carrrera S I have driven. I am not trashing the new cars, I just prefer the more instantaneous and more linear throttle response of the NA engine, and there is no comparison to the sound.
