Which version of 997.2 or 991 is best value?
Just went from a 997tt, to a 991na
Hey guys, Had a 07 997 and really miss the car. This time I will go with a used car. Probably a 991 but could be a 997.2. From a value and resale standpoint and holding value can you guys provide some input on what I should be looking at?
This time I will be getting a CAB and looking for all the standard features and add-ons but not sure if I should consider base, S, 4S or Turbo? This will be a weekend car to keep for some time. Never tracked. I can spend up to about 85K and looking for under 25,000 miles.
If I put 3-5K on it a year and want to sell in 5 years I wonder which might hold the best value?
Any input greatly appreciated.

Just pulled the trigger last week. The results are about what you'd expect when making this swap. This does not directly answer your question , since it was a 997.1 and not a 997.2.
I went from one of the fastest 911's ( 997tt with ruf 550 coupe ) to the slowest 911 ( 991 c2 cabriolet ). And only miss one thing about my old car
That 997tt power was so much fun. The ceramic brakes were incredible as well. But I found myself driving far too fast for the streets , to enjoy the benefits of the car. Take away those turbos, and brakes. and i'd take the 991 any day. Even with the turbos , Id still take the 991 .
Rides better, more refined. Feels more sure footed and planted. the interior is much nicer, i happen to like the exterior styling better and the car is much more up to date. Its also slowed down my driving habits. Especially considering that most corvettes will now smoke me. I'm sure each member has a different take on which is better. drive them both and the resale value is going to be decent on both of them. Perhaps one has slightly better than the other , but condition plays a big factor. You're going to lose $$ either way , unless you buy vintage. So might as well buy the one that suits your needs. My kids love the cabrio and the wife is happy that i'm slowing down. You can't put a price on having a happy wife!
I'd go 997.2 manual. Select a 911 you'll enjoy 5 years down the road regardless of value or resale potential. What elements of the 997 do you miss? What features/changes do you like/dislike in the 991?
Some reasons I wouldn't own 991 - Engine accessibility limited/removed, center console design used across all Porsche models, steer-by-wire, larger overall size and complexity of electronics.
