New Car - 991.2 Base Turbo

Just collected my new 2017 911 Carrera Cab Manual. Previously had a 911s Cab in 2005 and then a new 911 4s in 2007 - both fantastic cars.

Are new 911 owners happy with their new 991.2 Turbo engines and driving experience compared to the older n/a engines?

do you run in the car to 2000 miles per the handbook?

For sure the NA engine sounds better, but I really like the Turbos with the new engine. With the NA engines, the fun didn't really start until 4 K. The Turbo engine has that low end torque which makes the car fun to drive on a daily basis.

Thanks for your feedback! Yes I remember driving my older 911s vehicles and you're right but there was also an immediate response without waiting for the turbos to spool up.

It's a minimal lag and many would happily trade it for the lower end torque but it seems to remove the driver engagement to some degree and also super quiet. The louder n/a engines were slower but gave you the feeling of more speed.

In the end it's a personal experience and for someone that is driving this new Porsche for the first time with no prior ownership, they would think I was crazy.

I never had followed break in to the letter but I am also with a new 991.2 GTS and decided to try .

I am finding the new GTS amazes me and will at some point do a write up . It's as if Porsche created a turbo engine which does an extraordinary effort at a seamless acceleration found in NA cars . I have owned 3 NA 997 S cars as well as a 997 Turbo which i kept . There is a distinct difference between a labeled "Turbo" Porsche . This has even been the case with a Macan (I had a Turbo and have a GTS) but not with the impressiveness that I am finding with the 991.2 GTS . I am completely blown away by the new car and still in the process of learning with only 220 miles thus far.
