Right mirror on reverse

Just sold my 997.2 and upgrade to a beautiful agate grey 991 C2S. Loving the car but still adjusting to some of the small changes to the interfaces and features.

While I do have the rear parking sensors, even after reading the manual, I cannot figure out how to get the right side mirror to tilt down upon reverse. This is so helpful in helping me not get curb rash on those big wheels so just wondering what I'm doing wrong.

The mirror adjustment selector is different in the 991 vs 997 so it isn't as easy as just leaving it on the right side.

I thought I saw in the manual somewhere that the option is in the PCM individual settings but there seem to be slight inconsistencies between the manual (which is the correct one) to the menu hierarchy in my PCM.

Like I said, trivial question and I'm probably doing something dumb ...

Other than that, loving the car and the upgrade to the S line. Putting the car through the paces and I like the handling even better. Not as tail-happy and the 7 speed is great!

make sure the function in "on", see above

adjust right side mirror with engine on and shifter in reverse

after you adjust, save it to memory on the door panel

move gear into drive or park and wait for mirror to return to normal drive position, then put in reverse to make sure it moves to parking mode

it is important to note that the mirror button on the driver door must have the right side button selected in order for right side mirror to go to parking mode. If left side mirror is selected, parking mode on the right side mirror will not work.

That's the part I'm struggling with - those options are not available in my PCM/computer.

I also do not have seat memory positions as the forward/backward adjustment portion of the seat is manual. I think I'm missing the Sport Chrono package.

Lastly, with the way the selector buttons are for the mirrors, it doesn't seem that I can leave one selected. When I push one it adjust the mirror but a few minutes later neither are selected.

Small detail but all around it seems like I'm missing the part of the package with this feature. Is it not standard on all 911's?

Seems as if you need memory package in order get the reverse mirror option - see "Swiveling mirror glass downward as a parking aid"

When I picked up my 991.1 after trading in my 997.2, my salesperson said the right mirror wouldn't do that anymore because I now have a camera. This guy has been selling Porsches for 30 years.....

Your guy who has been selling Porsches for 30 years is wrong. I have a back up camera and my right mirror adjusts downward to aid with parking (991.1)

He also sucks at follow up after the sale. That's why I do my own research. Thanks for the info. And I wasn't sure he was right, hence the "..." after the comment.
