how do you guys valet
Yikes, lots of horror stories. I've only valet parked the wife's VW, which I care not a whit about. I don't know about being brave enough to valet the 911. For the restaurants where you have no choice (limited parking) it's leave the Porsche at home and take the minivan or her VW...
That is the best response on this thread! Exactly correct.
either by paying the valet enough to let me park it or ill pay enough so i can leave it up front and they dont touch my car or keys. depending where you are and the type of place, id say can cost anywhere from $10-50.
I won't valet my car. I drive to a parking lot or garage near the restaurant or I won't eat there.
I had a valet scratch my front bumper on my 4runner. He stood by the rear bumper and held the keys up to direct me to the rear bumper so I wouldn't see the damage. Sadly his trick worked, I didn't notice the scratch until I got home but once I left I can't exactly prove anything. I'd rather park a block and walk or not eat there before I'd trust valet with my 911. The only time I trust a valet is at a nice hotel like Ritz Carlton or 4 seasons, and only if I had no option because I have a roof rack on my Range Rover and can't fit in the garage.

It's not always possible to avoid the valet.
We used to do this thing with my extended family where we'd go to New York to see plays. It was a moderate drive for us, but parking space in Manhattan is so ludicrously short that all the long term garages are valet. They pack the cars in like sardines, blocking cars further in, and move them around when they need access to one in the back. Self-parking is simply not available.
On the positive side, I've never really been that concerned about joy riding, since there wouldn't be that much pleasure in driving around in congested Manhattan traffic.

Saturday I went to a bar and asked the guy to park my 911 in a good spot, I forgot to hand the keys, on the way out it was me looking for my car, but it was in between two trucks it was a hard time to open the door and not hit the other car.
