Is there any Gundo Hack type mod available on the 991?

Hi, currently have a 997 Carrera 3.6 with gundo hack, I must say it has been an excellent decision and I am still very pleased with the sound.

So I will want to upgrade to 991 model Carrera in the future and I would like to know if there exists any type of cheap effective exhaust hack for the 991 models?

Or is making sure the car has PSE a better idea?

Cheers guys.

I had a 997 with fabspeed exhaust and no on off button. Have a 991 now with PSE.
PSE ALL THE WAY, hands down.

There is no analog to the Gundo hack for a 991 unfortunately. Cheapest route to a fruity exhaust note with a 991 is a center muffler delete in the form of an x-pipe. These are going to run you about $900 + install if you won't DIY. A competent exhaust shop could certainly do one cheaper, it is really just a matter of making some measurements and bending some tubing. Unfortunately, most trades these days have gone away from the custom craftsmanship approach in exchange for off the shelf solutions. Unless you have a "guy" that you know and trust you are probably best off ordering one of the x-pipes that are already proven.

Results from these pipes are mixed. Some love them and some hate the rasp they produce. They certainly are louder no doubt but they lack the full, complex sound of a dedicated full system. All things considered, find a car equipped with PSE when you go 991 shopping and your exhaust will be sorted from the start.

I can sell you my AWE Switchpath X-pipe at $1100 shipped to you if you'd like.
