Labor cost install sport exhaust OEM 991.1

Hi Guys,

What would be average cost for a dealer to install a sport exhaust on a 991.1, no switch, I got quoted $900 but I think its expensive for just mufflers.

I paid $400 to have an exhaust put on my 2010 TT Cab along with fabricating mounts, so no more than that.

Not the dealer as they were less than you have been quoted quoting but more than the independent shop.

You are going to pay somewhere between 2-4 hours labor depending on who does it and if there are any issues with the swap. As far as no switch, the Porsche PSE has valves that open and close that will have to be set to the always open position. not sure how this is done. Why no switch? Just curious. Its just a button to push not a big deal.

the advisor quoted for 6 hours and told me valves can left open with zip ties, I thought 6 hours was a lot, regarding the switch because its like the start stop function that everytime you jump in the car you need to switch either off or on. it was easy to get on all time, its not super loud and also cheaper , unless just installing the mufflers is something easy I can DIY but not sure if a member already installed the PSE by itself .

I just installed this on a 4S. The process is more in depth if on a non "S" as 2 side and 1 center muffler must be replaced on a base car. Otherwise, its easy. A P-car tech should be able to do this in 4 hours or so with switch programming and vacuum plumbing. Remove tail lights, Intake tract, spoiler, then 18 fasteners to remove/loosen, unplug actuators and old silencer is out.
you will need as a minimum for PSE (with functional button):

1- Center Muffler
2- Cat Gaskets
6- Exhaust nuts
2- 190mm braided steel lines
1- 90mm braided steel line
1- Console switch appropriate for your car
1- PIWIS programming (30 minutes)

Everything else can be scavenged from the old muffler and plumbing if your car is an "S" and not corroded.

Exhaust

thanks, I did replaced mine already, center and side mufflers only, no button, was a straight forward installation, PSE it’s always open sounds better then having the switch
