Pink Fluid Leak Under Engine

So I am in my garage and notice a pink fluid puddle under the rear of my car (2015 Cab 4) with 17,000 miles. I believe this is the engine coolant and the leak is worsened by running the engine. I assume the pressure makes the leak worse. Probably a water pump or a gasket. I am bringing the car into the dealer for service and I am attaching a pic of the leak. Anyone else ever have this issue? Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Car is going into service tomorrow. I’ll update this post with the resolution.

turned out to be the a couple of bolts that loosened up causing the leak. Dealer replaced the bolts re-filled and pressurized the system. I was in and out in a few hours.

Back in the shop again for another coolant leak! 300 miles since the last coolant leak repair. I hope this time the diagnostic is more thorough.

gotta be kidding me! maybe take to another dealer as it is obvious those guys don't know what they are doing or do it poorly

did you take to JD?

Still in service dept at Porsche Monmouth. They said its a pipe/tube that connects the water pump. Waiting for the part to arrive and hopefully that will fix it. I'll keep updating the post. I have to add that I always get top service and treatment from these guys. They provided me a loaner too.

Me too, This one would have cost around $1700 in parts and labor if I had to pay for it.

If you see Pink fluid under the car then it means your water pump is done, you need a replacement. Don't know why P didn't do a recall on these.
they did change the design so you will get a newer one but some of those have failed to.
very common in 2017 and 2018 991.2s
Insist your dealer replace it or you may have a bigger problem

I think even the second version creates a lot of problems

Happy to say since the service, no further issue with the leak.

Yours being a 2015, there was an update to that plastic coolant pipe where they added some extra gussets at the flanges to stiffen it up. Although I have the updated one on hand, I just replaced the O-ring between the plastic coolant pipe and the thermostat housing. Its been leak-free since June of 2021.

Chances are very good that was not necessary, but they wanted a warranty repair and the time.
