Factory paint defects on GT cars?

Noticed a severe paint discoloration on a newly purchased car. Is this common for Porsche? I highly doubt it based on the their level of quality control. I have owned Porsche cars before but never had a paint issue. Dealer claims did not happen there Porsche says its normal quality. For a speedster I find hard to believe or any modal for that matter. Has anyone else had issues.

Thanks in advance

Porsche paint jobs have not been stellar in recent years, but that is pretty bad and unacceptable.
It this an aftermarket spray?
A few years ago there was a batch of 991's with what looked like rust spots under their clear coat.
Can't remember how those issues were made to go away, but usually Porsche offers to repair (with a check in hand) in return for customers silence.

I would certainly NOT accept..
Have you opened a case with PCNA and demanded that their rep come and inspect this in-person?

The rep was notified they had a certified body shop pull bumper PCNA said it was escalated to Germany and this is normal due to carbon fiber bumper hand painted. I don't get it the bumper is plastic/rubber.

Definitely frustrating. Have you considered a paint refinement detail? That may help in getting rid of the swirls and polish the paint to the point the defects are not as noticeable/ gone. I was recently looking at a friends OEM PTS 993 Turbo, and noticed similar defects (tape lines, light over spray, etc). I would also recommend a PPF and/or ceramic coating with such a beautiful color.

I ordered a PTS 16 GT3 that arrived with paint problems under the clear coat. The dealer could not “detail” it out but suggested that the white film install (that they put on the car before shipping) had caused the problem. Said the paint was not fully dry under the clear coat and when the pressed the film down it caused the problem. PCNA did nothing. The dealer did nothing because they had a ton of people on the list. I passed on the car. I’ve had 2 GT3’s and a C4S since then, no issues. That said I have not done PTS again and my cars go straight from the dealership to one of the best detailers in the US.

I have heard about issues under the clearcoat on PTS cars. It's ironic, one may have to sacrifice quality to get more (e.g. PTS). Surprised PCNA did nothing in your situation.
