I trying to sort out the pros/cons of owning a 993tt. I know what the pros are with performance and aesthetics - it's my overall favorite. I've owned a 911SC that I had completely rebuilt, and I also owned a 996 that I wasn't very happy with. Having said this, are there major issues with this model? For example, I know that on the water-cooled variety, the early 996 had issues with leaking cylinders (#2 & #3 on mine), as well as RMS leaking. I've been told that the 993tt is a high maintenance car and expensive to maintain. I don't know what that means because I see these cars as needing upkeep and it stands to reason they're expensive and parts and labor are not cheap. Just wondering what I need to be alert for. I'm still researching but any input will be greatly appreciated.
