She's Back - RUF 993 Turbo R!!
Wow wow and WOOOW.
Just curious why you switch to the center exhaust? Is it because of gain in power or more for looks?
The switch in exhaust look quite expensive because it seems like you need to change to a center exhaust bumper as well? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Holy crap.
Holy F'IN crap.
This is the first time I'm noticing the 993s (was too young when they were introduced) and makes me feel like a little girl for liking 997s.
Kevin, may I ask how much a project like this costs? Please PM me if you'd rather not publicize to the whole world (since it appears the whole world has been following your post). Lol.
Enjoy in great health.

Kevin, I do realize that I'm late to the "Congratulatory Party"..I can tell you that when I dream of the ultimate P-Car it is a 993TT set up just as you have done... I wish you many miles of enjoyment and satisfaction that you have brought to life a true enthusiasts machine... Thank you for sharing your experiences and the pictures... Kenny
Thanks guys. Appreciate the compliments. This has definately been a fun project for me and I'm glad to see it's also been well tracked! Always had a thing for the air cooled cars and especially the 993's. I fell in love with the ruf cars when the CTR2 came out. THis project for me is the next best thing.
I've had the benefit of getting all the work done under my ownership. Cost tends to vary a ton. I had the RUF turbo R upgrade, which includes turbos, ECU, oil cooler, sport cats, cams, but also had RUF do a complete engine rebuild at that time including top end and bottom end - pistons, rings, valves, basically anything that could be replaced was replaced. I also got a new clutch, RS motor mounts, the latest brembo's for the 993 (15 inch in front and 14 inch in back). Body kit was also installed which includes front and rear bumpers. As part of that fitting I had the light "warts" removed in front of the headlights, had 3M put all over the car. INterior was also done. Full carbon as well as RUF steering wheel, gear lever, e-brake etc. Also added gt3 seats to save a bit of weight (still have original 993 sport seats that came with the car). Rennline pedal set. Latest upgrades were center exhaust and side mirrors, both of which were not easy, straightforward mods. Wheels are RUF 19's with PS2's and the car has Pss9 suspension. I'm sure I'm forgetting other upgrades, but that's pretty much the gist of it. With these 993's the key is finding the right car to start with. I recommend taking your time and once you find a well sorted example go for it and never look back. I've never looked at this as an investment, but based on a few in bound calls on the car, it seems to have held it's value better than any other car I've owned, by a mile.
I changed to the center exhaust more for the looks / uniqueness. This was a factory set up for the RUF ctr2 cars. RUF doesn't make these bumpers any more so when one came up i jumped on it. Took a fair amount of work to get everything to fit properly with heat shields etc, but i'm happy with how it turned out. Just had the mufflers modded a bit to give the car a slightly more aggressive sound (see post above). I'm holding on to the other RUF bumper and can swap it back pretty easily along with returning the piping to original.
That's it for now! Thanks everyone for your interest and for checking back in periodically. This has been a fun post! Until the next upgrade...

Had an opportunity to see this car in person and it is a sweet ride.......I think the 993 is best version of the 911. So Jetpilot wondering if your next ride is going to be a P-Car? I have to say your NSX was a sweet ride.....loved the Imola/Onyx color combo.
Rossii - nah I've lurked on here for years as I've always been a fan of the 993 (my fav of all 911's). NSX's are still my #1 joy...perhaps in the future I can have both? Who knows...
I can't believe how well these 993TT's have held their worth over the years. That's impressive.
Otherwise this 993 TT Ruf is the bomb.
