Lost power on boost....face plant(YIKES!!!!)

Been having a few problems...noisy lifter I think...changed oil...added some Swepco...quieted down...went for a short drive last night...got on boost and WHAM...my face is in the windshield....car came to a slow halt but kept running but only if I reved up motor..car popped and crackled/sputtered home and absolutely no boost...started up this morning and at idle it is real rough...must give gas continually or it will die...revs up OK....took intercooler of...looked for exhaust leaks....found none...car is not driveable...sputters and has occasional black smoke...taking to shop on Friday...Any ideas?.......Steve C 97 993TT

Sounds like you blew a hose off and now have a large vacuum leak.

Turned out to be a "vacuum line" for the "idle controller"...I hope I am quoting him correctly...this is a lot better than all the other things that have rolling around in my head...hope to get car back tomorrow evening..Steve C 97 993TT(lightened flywheel, modified ECU, muffler bypass, GT 3 mufffler) Portland,OR
