Performance in the Snow Belt

From the threads I've read, I'm convinced that the 993 can be a great daily driver, as long as it's been properly maintained. However, most of the posters are from fair weather states.

I live in Toronto. It's not that snowy here in the city, but it's a concern. The car would be kept outside when at home and underground when at work. Commute is less about 10km each way every day.

What do you guys think, would this be a good idea? It's an old car. Would it start in the winter? Would the body hold up?
