1997 993?

I have an opportunity to maybe pick up a 1997 993, BLK/TAN, ~85,000miles. He is asking $27,000 for it and it seems to be in great shape. Doesn't seem to burn any oil after a good run outside.

What do I need to look out for in the 1997 year model? I need to get a PPI done but what do you guys recommend I look for? What are common issues.
Does the price seem fair. It has A/C and tan leather...doesn't seem to have any other upgrades.

I live in Tucson right now, will I have issues driving this car in 100 degree heat?
Thanks,

Price seems good. You will not have issues driving it in AZ heat, just don't expect your AC to be alive and kickin when it's 120 out.
I had a 95 and it was a perfect car for all the years I had it, I can't really think of anything in particular that you should look for in a 97. Make sure there are no leaks and the PPI should tell you everything you need to know.

Look for the secondary air issues (SAI), have a leakdown test done during the PPI. Other than the SAI, they're great cars. Go over to Rennlist.com and get on the 993 board. Huge community of great people and very knowledgeable as well!
