993 Question
993 Question
I am looking for an 95-96 993 coupe. I have seen some pretty good deals
for cars with 80-90k miles. As long as the car has been properly maintained, I assume the motor will go alot more.
The routine maintenance should be less as no lifter adjustments are nec.
I have have owned a 87 car. and 86 911 turbo in the past and they were generally bullet proof.
any input

Just make sure it has been driven on a regular basis, & not all short trips. Make sure they did regular oil changes, you should do at least one a year, but it's 15kmi/or 1 year.
They are solid, and less mainatiance then the 3.2.
There solid cars, & hold up quite well, it may also leak some oil from the valve covers or timing chain covers.

Bought my '95 a year ago as a daily driver. 2 oil changes (one in the spring one in the winter) New valve cover gaskets. Just drive and enjoy. No issues for me. Love this car !!!
These motors are very strong. Make sure whatever car you get you have as many maintainence records as possible and a PPI is well worth the money.
Good luck with your search. You'll be happy when you land your new 993.

I went from a 80 911 SC last year to a 993. While the 993 is better in every way, there are a lot of similarities in handling, driver controls etc... the origins of the 993 are unmistaken, just like our 80 911 was to our previous 68.
I love my 993, great car, though it was tough to part with my SC, I am glad I did.
dual distributors and the mufflers make maintenance more costly on the 993 than previous models, but it is worth it.
