How to clean/polish 993 original mufflers

ok, so I am thinking of putting my original mufflers back on. But I want to clean/polish them first. Has anyone ever tried this and whats the best way as I heard these can be cleaned up very nicely.

Just use some chrom/mag polish, or car polish. A PC or Rotary will really speed it up.

Why do you want to polish the cans? Unless you got the SS ones, it's going to be hard to get much from them.

I'm too lazy to polish anything underneath and out of sight.
