Ow. It's only because many of us newbie's can't find a 993 for sale that meets our criteria while shopping. You guys that have them are holding on to them.

Yeah, it's tough, especially when you're looking for something that's nearly ten years old and has to be close to perfect. I looked for several months. The '97s and '98s became the most wanted on my list, and then I narrowed it further to widebodies, making it even harder. It's fun hunting though...that's part of the adventure for me.

Actually, I almost got a 965 (964-based turbo 3.6) instead, but try finding one of those that doesn't have a BIG unreported repair in it's history...it ain't easy, I'll tell ya. One guy even had a title-washed car that had a clear CA title, but a salvage from another state from it's SECOND YEAR and he covered it up. That means back then, the damned thing had a $60k plus damage claim! And the guy couldn't understand why I was pissed when I found out he was hiding it from me! Oh boy...Shopping for used sports cars is always "interesting."

All the shopping and driving hot 911's is what lead to my 996tt purchase. I had a 993tt lined up with a deposit and was literally beat out of the deal by a day.

Truely a beautiful machine. Nearly baught a midnight blue 993 TT a few years back but the owner had second thoughts and took his prestine car off the market. It was litrally showroom new with only around KM200 on the odometer.
