Ok i have been trying to figure out the reliability issues known about the 993. I am a noob when it comes to Porsche, but have always loved them. I know the 996 is more refined, but i love the look of the 993. So i am here to ask what is the low down with the 993. Is there some website that lists all the known problem or somewhere i can find some more information. I have found a nice priced c2 that i want to use as a daily driver, but i hear that the 993 is not the model you would want to use as a DD. Any information you can give about the 993 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
there's nothing wrong with a 993 as a daily driver; all models have their problems. Of course, the 993 is air cooled and the 996 water, but I always say buy the most you can afford and have a hell of a good time... as far as resources, there are a million web sites dedicated to that question; including this one

Outkasted,
It really depends what kind of daily driving you are plannig on doing. For me, my office is 8 minutes away from my house therefore, I do not drive my 993 to work. If I did, the car would never have enough time to warm up properly which could lead to problems in the future. I bought a very inexpensive 300E Mercedes and drive that to the office and keep the Porsche for weekend use only. Good luck with your purchase.

L

I've used my 993 as a daily drive for nearly 3 years. My commute is 17 miles each way. The 993 makes the commute much more fun than when I used a BMW (325). I've put 40,000 miles on it in the 3 years I had it.
I also used my 993 as a daily driver, but have since bought my bmw to avoid getting it damaged in the car parks in the city more than anything. The 993 has been faultless, but as with any high end car, you need to take care fo it.
