993 Salvage, How much is it worth?

I'm thinking of buying my cousins 1997 993 C4S. It has a salvage title but I know the history of the car. It was never in a wreck or flooded any of that sort. The Previous owner that owned it before he sold it to my cousin filed a claim thinking that his car was flooded during hurricane Katrina. When he got back to New Orleans. Nothing happened to his house and his car didn't get flooded. But since he already filed a claim thinking everything was ruined including his car. The insurance already paid him and automatically gave the car a salvaged title. So he bought the car back from the insurance and sold it to my cousin. The car is still in excellent shape. It has about 85-90 miles on the car. How much do you think this car is worth? He wants to sell it to me for 25k.

I don't think it is wise to post on a public forum that your uncle defrauded his insurance company

You don't mention the most critical part and that is if the car has been somehow re-registered.....if it still has salvage title it can't be registered to be driven on the street in most states

I know my cousin went through the process with the state police. So I'm assuming he get a rebuilt title. I still need to get value on how much this car should be worth?

you need to confirm the title issue before anyone can tell you what it might be worth...your uncle's story does not sound plausible...no insurance company is going to pay off on a car they havent' seen as damaged....also, the fact that it was claimed as a Katrina victim will make the great majority of buyers stay away and most people here will tell you to run from it...even though it may have some value to you since you say you know the story (I hope you know for sure even if it is your uncle and cousin as you won't be the first to be taken in by a relative) you will never be able to sell it for much with that history and you should take that into consideration if you should buy it

Yea... Thanks for the info. I don't think I'm going to buy it.
