Opinions on 993 C4S for Track/Street
Hello all, wanted to get opinions on the idea of having a 993 C4S for street/track. Will be doing 4-5 DE events a year and want something I can run on the streets as well. Have done 5 events is year and am really enjoying DE events. Used a 996tt this summer and want something a little less powerful to learn to be a better driver.
Does the AWD option make sense for track? Would I be better off looking at a RWD 993 or 964?
Any input would be really appreciated.

Hey fox,

I have done my first DEs this summer up at Brainerd. I'm driving a 1995 prepped fully for the track and it used to run in stock class G. With everything torn out of the car and some supercup suspension it is a blast to drive. It's my starter track car and I would say a hell of a start up car.
If your looking for less power to improve your skills I think your on the right track with a 993. I wouldn't suggest a 4s for the track though. There's no need for the four wheel drive on the track. The extra weight and different handling characteristics of the 4s would be a hinderance in improving your skills.
Just go out and find a regular 993 carrera, I would suggest buying a wrecked but fixable car. Pull it straight and prep it for the track and go racing.
