JK or maybe not.

I talked to my Porsche dealer from whom I have purchased 5 new cars from since 1998. My firm also offers these guys some business. I asked him for a brochure and any ordering information on the new 997. He spent 20 minutes calling his regional folks and etc. and came away from these several conversations saying that Porsche did not even know for sure if they were still making this car.

My guy is a very stand up guy, but my dealer is relatively small compared to market such as Atlanta, LA, Champion Porsche, Brumos and etc. I know for a fact he was told from high ups today that the 997 might not be built. It could be a conspiracy against him, my dealer and me to try and get me to buy yet another (my 4th) 996 model, but they are pretty much sold out anyway at my dealer. Or perhaps, Porsche realizes that this thing is ugly and is back tracking very quickly. What do you think.

 

Porsche does not release any information to porsche dealers
until 24 hrs before it is released to the press..

 

I thought release date was May 11, but that would make sense. Not sure why my dealer would not know that though.

 

they are making it...in TT form is uncertain for now (I say they will)...

I believe it. I just thought it was strange or interesting what I heard. Its like release of the U2 bomber or whatever.

 

Alright Dock, and the other fighter jocks, don't laugh at the "U-2 bomber" comment.

 

Spyplane, bomber same thing . . . JK. The worst part about it is that my father was a pilot.
