Window Tint Preference.

Okay... i'm doing the window tint again and need some fast answers on the percentage.

50% is less dark, not as much heat and UV protection but easier to see through at night.

35% is more dark, more protection, but difficult to see through at night, especially on the rear window with defrosters.

Please vote and comment accordingly.

35% is not that dark - legal max in MA...I like it because you can still see all the alu look interior and seat backs

Hey Britt,

FL does have legal limits on the front windows. I like to go max legal on the front and a shade darker in the rear. I have never had a problem seeing out the back window with this combo. Not sure what %'s you had on GG2, but use that as a basis for comparison.

I agree, 35% is not dark and 50% forget, barely darker than stock. I have 20% and have no problem at all seeing out of the windows in daylight or nightime. I say go 35% at the very minimum with 20% being my preference. 3M Panther Tint is what I have always used, no mettalics so won't affect your V1 performance!

Go 20% with that color. I have 20% and it matches perfectly with my black car. No problems seeing at night.

I've seen light shades of tint on darker colored cars, and it just doesnt blend in well. If you look at Ruiner or LSM's cars (with 20%), you will understand what I am talking about. Just imagine a 35% tint or higher.... just doesnt blend. If you must go higher, get some sort of metallic tint like madico.

I was at the dealer yesterday and saw the Atlas in person....stunning! With 20% tint...forget it!

Yep ..20 % all around would be my preference as well beings I use that myself. I know it's not "legal", but if you get pulled over for having too dark of windows that officer needs to find a new line of work anyways..that's just being petty. I have the same on my Denali and it matches perfectly with the rears that are factory. I think doing two different shades from to back looks tacky unless you do the sides one shade and JUST the back window as dark as you can get it.

If you are going to tint it, I would recommend Llumar 35%, its nice and not too dark, medium touch.

I have 20 all around with 50% on the windshield. No problems at night what so ever, but then again, I'm coming from 5% all around and 35 on the windshield... I say 20 would look good on yours with 50 on the windshield to protect the leather.

Cool rear window darker

I did legal on the sides and went darker on the rear window.
My guy suggested that and told me that plenty of light comes thru the windshield, so that when viewed from behind, the rear needs to be darker.
He was right.
