i was driving along today on the highway at ~ 3500rpm when i pressed the gas and the entire car just started shuddering. i was in traffic so i couldn't do anything variable w/ the throttle, but it continued this for 3-4x and then it ran perfectly for the remaining 40 miles or so.

i had put some 110 (leaded) in yesterday (25/75 of 110/100) - would this in any way affect the plugs?


of course, i'm supposed to drive it to LA on Thurs but now i've lost all confidence in it... yet again.

doesnt lead destroy your cats, thus affecting the o2 sensors?

 

eventually, but this was only 4 gals total yesterday... first time ever w/ any 110 in the tank.

merely 4 gals ? on plugs w/ maybe 4k miles?

i won't take it to LA this weekend for fear of being stranded in the middle of nowhere (the porsche has never let me down in this respect!)


markski, does it sound like plugs to you? maybe akin to running too rich and they just needed to get "blown off"? and now they're fine?

Could it be your clutch?

 

i was cruising down the highway @ 75-80, wasn't touching the clutch, and just tapped the gas. each time it would shudder and the exhaust note would change. so i'm pretty sure it was engine related.
