We have the same clutch. I had mine upgraded to 1350 Kg pressure plate- not sure about Scott's. Originally I think it was 1150Kg.
I ran 4.78 60 to 130 so it holds. We have a little slippage at the track but that may be due to not enough break in period( even though u do not have to do it on a carbon clutch it was recommended to do.)

The clutch you have probably will not last either. I have a 1350 Kg triple carbon/metal pressure plate/clutch and at the strip it gave in a little. On the street its fine.
My old sachs with the 1127 Nm pressure plate with lighweight flywheel was not good enough.
Thanks hope to get that ride let me know when your car is ready!

Craig,

Thanks for the writeup I appreciate your honesty. Remember I had a Stage 5 turbo before there were any GT kits out. It was almost a one off because only one other Stage 5 had been built at that point. I know some of the issues that come along with the game, although at 850 rwhp it is even more to worry about.

I definately want to ride in Markski's car before I make a decision.

I busted the catch can for the turbo so I got one overnited.... tomorrow Ill try to install it. Unfortunatley there is some custom drilling and stuff involved so its not a direct bolt on.

Craig - good post. A guy has to try and stay balanced (mentally) when deciding these things. It is sooooooo easy to lust for the big numbers. Practicallity does come into play at some point....

AGREED... but then I have seen guys spend $30K on a watch.... to each his own I guess.

I think Budddy's rods will do fine. leave the head alone... it may only cause problems especially when too many hands are involved.... then the blaming game starts...
He should put on bigger turbos.. have it tuned for 1.5 bars on good gas and call it a day.

Hahaha! Good point! Thanks for getting me straightened around Mark. I've spent most of the time since my last point thinking about increased power anyways.

The only thing is he wont get anywhere near 850 rwhp like that.....he doesn't have the fuel or airflow to do it but I DO AGREE that is probably the route he should take.

First I am going to try my boost controller, 5 bar and see what that does for me.

Then it may or may not be going for the big build!

Acropora has a spectacular aura aboutAcropora has a spectacular aura about
I'm looking at switching my 41# to4e46 garrett compressors to 36# super60 compressors this winter to lower my track times. Coming on boost in the middle of a turn is a little more challenge than I care for anymore. Betting once you ride in Markski's car it'll be all over and the uber build will be on!

I will say it out loud that the 3.8L set ups so far have not been too promising... from what I hear its very very important to get a good 3.8l kit. When I see 2 or 3 cars running around with 3.8L kits successfully is when I will give my blessing.
My good friend Marek

Thus far I have 3000 thousand miles... hmmm atleast 1000 miles which are hard and fast miles and no problems!!!!! I did several runs with 800 plus hp cars at the supra nats last month and the car performed very well. However, I did use up 50 gallons of race gas and a pair of Hoosiers! I was hoping that some of the EVOMS cars would show up to compare but nothing. However, I did hear that Joe W is trying to sell his EVOMs 3.8 car??? So I can't comment about the other 3.8s that are out there but all I can say is that my motor is spot on and the tuning.... what can one say about Todd K?? He is a magician when it comes to tuning! I hope this helps.

Got boost?

Rob, are you F8ckin kidding me?Why don't you get some #'s on your car before you try uttering anything out of your mouth about my car. What wrer we gonna compare them to......Marty's stock internal car.......cause he is the only one who ran his car.Your the only one I know who goes to a meet with several timed events with their just completed car and enters none of them or lives in the same state as The Texas Mile and doesn't enter. You are weak dude.Real weak! All you can talk about is your supposed street races against other cars that we have no times on .Give me a break....Renntech had you right .....your a poser.

P.s my name ain't Joe W and yes someone asked me how much it cost to build my car and i told them and also gave them a number to sell but i am not trying to get rid of it.Go pop some more pills loser.

Why all this hatorade? All I know is that Proto and EVOMS are they only ones building and tuning 3.8 liters, thus it would be nice to compare the similarities as well as the differences b/n these two builds. Yes, I am very fortunate to live in a state where there are several huge events. I have been going to these events for a long time and we have another one this weekend... the G cruise! Because I never post anything about my car makes me weak? Then so be it becuase I dont neet the internet hype. I am happy for all of those who ran in the Tx2k8. I was thinking about entering my car but I would rather see others enjoy their cars in such a huge event. I truly have nothing to prove but you are more than welcome to race me, but first you must get your car running? I hope this ends this drama.

Good luck
Robert

Yeah I know O.K. guys can anyone guess the excuse that is coming next why Dr. Pocketprotector hasn't run his car in any timed event that he has been to.......That's right you guessed it ......He's a big time street racer........Hmmmmmm where have we heard that before.Atleast that guy had a little flair.
