washed the car took it 1/2 block and my workshop light came on.....turned around disconnecterd the batt.... drove about 35 miles no lite all gone .. what do you guys think ???

 

A lot of times when I wash my car, the water that drips in to the engine compartment causes the altenator belt to slip. This causes my battery light to come on, and a message saying drive to workshop in the center display.

Once the water dries and I turn off the engine and then restart it, the light goes away. Maybe this is happening to you too.

 

I have the same problem everytime I wash the car. The belt slips so bad that not just the alternator but the power steering pump loses pressure. They both dry and recover.
