I was at ICS recently in Ct. which still has not finished my way too expensive 540i , BIG MISTAKE, anyway a fellow ( Elliott) had a 996 stage 4 something and said I could take it for a drive. I actually refused as I do not like taking the chance something could go wrong.. Anyway I took a ride in the car as this Subaru blasted by us , then at the exit George said drive the car back and I did and it was a blast .I hit way above the speed limit on I-95 really quickly and it was solid as a rock , my 540i was not as solid at that speed ( before the new suspension , brakes , etc.)I was impressed a bunch. I am thinking about buying a 996 and adding the kit to have a fun comfortable car, as the 996's seam to be the best deal going here recently... I could have a good time with this car...

 

Elliott post on here as well (turbohead I believe). Also, the 540 will be worth the wait, I saw it at 666fab a few weeks back.
